That kind of policy is by no means limited to Canadian banks – try going into a bank in the US with Canadian dollars and ask them to convert them to USD. You may as well be speaking Martian! I’m convinced it’s a global banking conspiracy so that they don’t have to do any work at all in making all their profits!
